日本語で何と呼ぶか知らない若者も多い印象があります。商品名を出したらわかるのかも。ムシューダとかヒレパラアースとか。今の商品には必ずしもこの camphor の成分が入っていない可能性もあるのかな？日本語なら

あえてわかりやすく総称するなら防虫剤ですかね。

こちら少しずれますが、クローゼットにいれるような防虫剤についての説明です。mothball というのか。。。

A mothball is a small ball made of a special chemical, which you can put among clothes or blankets in order to keep moths away.

Naphthalene balls というのもありました。

海外製のものの写真を見たら、確かに球体でした。日本は平たいタブレット状のものが多いですが、ところ変わればですね。

camphor ではなくて mothball を使った例文ですが、やはりかなり時代遅れな臭いとされているのがわかります。日本でも樟脳が消える日も近そうです。
