国民の祝日は national holiday といいますよね。祝日が日曜にあたった場合、月曜日は振替休日となります。振替休日は英語で？ 調べてみたら、holiday (observed) と記載されていました。不思議な感じ。observe と言うと観察するという意味が浮かびます。なぜ observe かを考えてみたいと思います。
